Assalamualaikum wrt. May Allah bless each seconds, hours, and days of us breathing in his air.

You might have felt this way in any case. Feeling of being deceived, regretful or all sorts of those feelings. It is probably impossible to find a human being who does not love. It’s the nature of a human. We love people for the qualities that we see, for how we are being treated, for the good deeds they do and other things that successfully catch our inner-self. But then, we forget something. We are too busy focusing on our love to somebody or to someone, and we expect more beyond their capabilities despite of their temporary nature. And that’s the reason why we might feel frustrated, abandoned and inadequate.

If we put together all the reasons why we love other people or things, and then apply it to Allah (swt), we should see that truly it is Him that deserves our love. The first thing Prophet Muhammad (saw) said to the people of Madinah, “O people! Love Allah with all of your hearts for what He has given you from blessings…”. The greatest love should be to Him and not anyone else.

The heart will not find complete happiness except by loving Allah and by striving towards what is dear to Him.

Look at around us. Who is the one who giving us the needs in life? Think for a while and answer it in your own heart. Aren't we ashamed of ourselves? We expect more from Him, but what did we do to please Him? I’m always being told that if I start loving Allah truly, then everything else in my life will fall into place, and I think it’s true.

This dun’ya describes the success as being wealthy, having good status or marry a person we love whether he is not fit for us or take us away from Allah. But in reality, it is not a real success by attaining this dun’ya. You still can be successful whether you have nothing, no wealth, status, or love of a special person . The criteria of success are what Allah has defined for us. And it is clearly stated that;

“Everyone who is striving for Allah, who loves for sake of Allah and do good deeds just for Him and leave everything which displeased Him or forbidden, is having real success”.

Yes, it is the real success with everybody can be one.

We all know we cannot depend on anyone or anything in this world. Know that, we always have what we need when we don’t have what we want. We need Allah s.w.t and the best thing is, He is always there for us no matter what. No need to hope for people as we can only get disappointment.

That is why we should not love people or things more than Allah (swt), because love tends to mean preference. We do things for them because we know that they will appreciate/like it. And when we prefer others over Allah (swt), or make them equal to Allah (swt), that is when we find difficulty because we are putting our hope in something finite and fallible.

“And among the people are those who take other than Allah as equals to Him. They love them as they should love Allah. But those who believe are stronger in love for Allah...” (al-Baqarah:165)

Thus, we should remind ourselves. There is no one who loves us more than Allah, and He is our true love. And remember that life can never be smooth. In order for a person to make a change in his/her heart, it usually begins with a fall. So, do not curse the fall. Let's rise up and become better, wiser, more God-conscious and more spiritually purified in order to strive for His love and aiming towards Jannah! Bismillah...
